Ladies and Gentelmen
Since I have started Wandafonds foundation years ago, it has been helping children suffering from cerebral palsy, thanks to aid from our benefactors and sponsors. I think every child, especially ill, deserves the best care and treatment. This is why every year we found courses and workshops for Polish doctors, physical therapists and orthopedic technicians can test their knowledge and skills, as well as learn about new trends in CP treatment from the most eminent Polish and Dutch specialists. And this year we are going to do it once again.
As one of the organizers of the event and on behalf of the Foundation and our medical committee lead by Professor Jules Becher from Free University Medical Centre in Amsterdam I would like to invite you to our courses:
"Multidisciplinary treatment of children with cerebral palsy" - Basic Course and „Comprehensive rehabilitation with Botulinum toxin treatment, functional strength training and orthotics” - Advanced Course.
Thanks to the newest therapy methods, what was impossible yesterday is now brought to reality. That is why we have invited the best and most eminent lecturers, specialists from Poland and Holland, to ensure you get the top level of teaching and the broadest spectrum of knowledge.
I am convinced that abundant program of the course, and especially the workshops where you will get practical knowledge on CP treatment, will leave us with a feeling that another step has been taken to enable effective treatment of CP children in Poland. And that would be the greatest reward.

We await your applications. I will do my best to make our course not only a source of knowledge for you, but also a place of many inspiring encounters and time of pleasure.
Yours faithfully
Eva Kooyman Piskorz

Ladies and Gentelmen,
Treatment of children with cerebral palsy remains an unsolved challenge for modern medicine. The scale of difficulty, complexity and importance of the problem is such that there is a separate scientific organization (American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine) which deals with it and a considerable number of publications, books, courses and an opinion on this subject are published. It seems now that the most important in the treatment is to improve the functional capabilities of patients. No one questions the necessity of a multidisciplinary team combining specialists in various fields of medicine and related sciences such as pedagogy, psychology and speech therapy.
This treatment concept is understood and accepted in Poland, but rarely put into practice. In many countries, especially the highly developed and much richer than Poland, such a scheme works, and one of the best would be the Dutch school developed and promoted by Professor Jules Becher of the Free University in Amsterdam and his team. This team’s experience has been shared and presented in Poland for a few years now thanks to the initiative of Dr. Eva Kooyman, a Polish anesthesiologist who for years has been living and working in Holland and who established Wandafonds Foundation in 2003 to help Polish children with CP. So far training courses for young Polish participants partly given by Polish experts were organized regionally in Zagórze near Warsaw, Rzeszow and Poznan. There are also other forms of cooperation with the Dutch being mainly training in the Netherlands for Polish doctors, physiotherapists and orthopedic technicians.
This year we are organizing the first nationwide course designed for professionals in the various treatment centers in the country from 16 to 19 November in Józefów near Warsaw. The lectures are going to be given by Dutch and Polish experts who have been involved in medical treatment of children with cerebral palsy for years. The course will be a review of knowledge, from diagnosis to specific aspects of treatment. In addition to a large number of lectures, the course will provide hands-on workshops with the participation of CP children. The course will be accredited by the Polish Rehabilitation Society, Polish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and the Polish Society of Physiotherapy. We would like to invite whole teams treating children in various centers all over the country. Our goal is to become the nucleus of modern, multidisciplinary treatment aimed at reaching specific goals and mutual cooperation of specialists from different regions of the country. We invite you to attend the course
